Salesforce Service Cloud in Australia: choosing the voice layer

Independent advice for Australian organisations running Salesforce. How Service Cloud Voice changes the contact centre decision, which platforms integrate deeply enough to be worth it, and what Agentforce costs once you look past the demonstration.

How Salesforce fits

Four things to understand before you put voice into Salesforce

We do not sell Salesforce licences. We advise on the contact centre that sits behind it, which is where the recurring cost and most of the integration risk live.

01

Service Cloud Voice puts telephony inside the record

Rather than running a contact centre beside Salesforce, Service Cloud Voice brings the call into the Salesforce interface with transcription and call data landing natively. Agents work in one screen. Only a handful of platforms support it properly, and that shortens the shortlist considerably.

02

Genesys and Vonage are the deep integrations

Genesys has the deepest native integration of any contact centre platform, and Salesforce invested in Genesys in 2025 alongside ServiceNow, with the platform being embedded into Service Cloud. Vonage is the other native Service Cloud Voice option. RingCentral and Five9 also integrate well. Which is right depends on scale and routing complexity.

03

Agentforce is the most commercially advanced AI agent platform in enterprise CX

It is genuinely capable and its licensing is the part that catches people out. Consumption and conversation-based models mean cost tracks usage, so it needs forecasting rather than an assumption, particularly across a second and third year.

04

Salesforce is expensive at the small end

For smaller teams the total cost of Salesforce plus a contact centre plus AI is frequently harder to justify than a platform that includes service capability. That is a fair observation rather than a criticism, and it is worth making before the project starts.

The decision

Which contact centre goes behind Salesforce

For Salesforce-first organisations the contact centre decision is really an integration decision, and it narrows quickly.

Genesys when

You run fifty agents or more, routing is complex, you need native workforce management, or you are in a regulated industry. The Salesforce integration is the deepest available and the ongoing embedding into Service Cloud makes it stronger over your contract term.

Depth and scale

Vonage or RingCentral when

You want Service Cloud Voice without the weight of a Genesys implementation. Vonage is the narrower, Salesforce-centric answer. RingCentral brings a broader unified platform and a clearer Australian residency position. Both are materially quicker to deploy.

Lighter and faster

How we help

What choosing a contact centre for Salesforce looks like

We are vendor funded, so the service costs your business nothing. We do not sell Salesforce and we have no reason to talk you out of it.

01

Decide whether Service Cloud Voice is genuinely required

It is the right answer often and it is sometimes assumed. We check what your agents actually do in Salesforce before it narrows the shortlist.

02

Forecast Agentforce before it goes in the business case

The consumption model means cost tracks usage. We model it against your real volumes across the contract term rather than the first year.

03

Test the integration on your org

Custom objects, custom fields, flows and your own reporting. This is where integrations that demonstrate well come apart, and Salesforce orgs are rarely standard.

04

Compare the platforms that integrate deeply

Genesys, Vonage, RingCentral and Five9. We put them side by side on routing depth, workforce management, Australian residency and total cost.

05

Negotiate the contact centre contract

We hold the vendor relationships on that side, so pricing, terms and implementation are negotiated by someone who does this every week.

Due diligence

What to check when putting voice into Salesforce

These are the items that decide whether the combination still works in year three.

Agentforce licensing at your volumes

Ask for the consumption model in full, the rates that apply in Australia, and what happens if usage lands well above or below the forecast.

What Service Cloud Voice actually surfaces

Which call controls, recordings, transcripts and reports appear inside Salesforce, and what still requires the vendor console. The gap decides whether agents really work in one screen.

Integration depth against your own org

Custom objects, flows, omni-channel routing and your reporting. Test on a sandbox of your own org rather than a demonstration tenant.

The Genesys embedding timeline for ANZ

Genesys is being embedded into Service Cloud following the 2025 investment. Ask what that means for your region and your renewal date, in writing.

Australian data residency across both products

Salesforce and the contact centre platform hold data in different places. Ask each separately and check the answers are compatible with your obligations.

Total cost across licences, contact centre and AI

Three products with three renewal dates and three pricing models. Model the combined figure across three years, not the first year discount.

Common questions

Questions about Salesforce and voice

What Australian Salesforce customers ask us

What is Service Cloud Voice and do we need it?

It brings telephony into the Salesforce interface, so agents handle calls, see transcription and work the record in one screen rather than alt-tabbing between a softphone and the CRM. It is worth it where agents genuinely live in Salesforce all day. Where voice is a smaller part of the job, a good connector achieves most of the benefit for less.

Which contact centre works best with Salesforce?

Genesys has the deepest native integration and is being embedded into Service Cloud following the 2025 Salesforce investment, which makes it the strongest answer at scale. Vonage is the narrower Service Cloud Voice option, and RingCentral and Five9 both integrate well. Scale, routing complexity and Australian residency usually decide it.

How much does Agentforce cost?

Agentforce is licensed on a consumption basis rather than per seat, so the cost tracks how much work the agents do. It is the most commercially advanced AI agent platform in enterprise customer experience and it needs a forecast rather than an assumption. Model it across the full contract term before it goes into a business case.

Is Salesforce too expensive for a small team?

Frequently, once you add a contact centre and AI on top of the licences. For smaller organisations a platform that includes service capability, or a cheaper helpdesk paired with a mid-market contact centre, usually reaches the same outcome for less. That is worth testing before the project rather than after.

Should we use Salesforce or HubSpot?

HubSpot is generally quicker to deploy and cheaper to run at smaller scale, with service sitting alongside sales and marketing. Salesforce carries more depth, more configurability and a much wider integration ecosystem, and costs more to own. The honest test is how much configuration you genuinely need rather than how much you might one day want.

Do you sell Salesforce?

No. We advise on the contact centre and telephony that integrates with it. We are vendor funded on that side, so the service costs your business nothing.
